Sveti Petar u Šumi is municipality and a village in Croatia in Istria County. Geography is located near the regional capital Pazin within the centre of the Istria n peninsula. The settlement arose around Paul Abbey and the Benedictine Saint Peter. The present-day Baroque monastery complex was finished in 1731. The Pauline abbey was dissolved in 1782 by Emperor Joseph II.
