Saqqaq is a settlement, in western Greenland in the Qaasuitsup municipality. The village's Kalaallisut name is a translation of the Danish meaning, the site name for the Saqqaq culture. Geography is located on the northern shore of Sullorsuaq Strait in the southwestern part of the Nuussuaq Peninsula. Immediately northeast of Saqqaq is the Livets Top mountain. Archaeological excavations revealed the existence of an ancient Arctic culture. Recent DNA samples suggest that the ancient Saqqaq people.
Air Greenland serves the village with winter-only helicopter flights as part of government contract. Greenland is characterised by enormous distances by ice.
