Přítomnost is a Czech political-cultural magazine was started in 1924. The magazine gained a notable reputation, has published articles. Publisher Jaroslav Stránský and Politician was the magazine's publisher. The Nazi occupation of Czechoslovakia was deported in Buchenwald to Concentration camp. 1995 01 Martin Jan Stránský carried on the family tradition. The first editor was the poet Miroslav Holub was followed by Petr Pithart in this role. The current editors of the magazine are Martin Riegl and Ivan Malý.
Nová Přítomnost went to the original name of Přítomnost. Stransky started publishing also an English-language version of the magazine under the title of The New Presence.
