Púchov is an industrial town in Slovakia in the centre of Púchov District. Geography is located half way between Košice and Bratislava on the main train line. This claim was supported throughout the centuries by many archaeological excavations of the graves. Púchov vicinities was settled earlier during palaeolithic period. 1469 Matthias Corvinus gave Púchov homestead to the Marczibányis. 97.4 % of inhabitants were Slovaks, 0.2 % Roma and 1.3 % Czechs. Matador is a 20-minute walk in Púchov from the train station.
The local team FK Matador Púchov had several successful seasons in the Slovak highest league. The local ice hockey team is the actually Slovak National Ice Hockey Team under 20. The team named a permanent member of the highest Ice Hockey league.
