Neckar near Heidelberg
The Neckar is a river, a major right tributary of the Rhine in Germany. The name Neckar was derived from Celtic Nikros from Neccarus and Nicarus. The 19th century were replaced by steam-powered chain boat. The river's course provides a popular route during the summer months for cyclists, are used for the cultivation of Trollinger for vineyards. The name was given also to the world's first motorboat. 27 Staustufen sind auf der 200km langen Strecke zu berwinden.
