Nathaniel graduated with Bachelor and an LLB from Cumberland University, was admitted in 1914 to the Florida Bar, served in Fort Meade as an attorney. Cumberland Law School was a charter member of the Lions Club, a member of Fort Meade Masonic Lodge in the Fort Meade Methodist Church. Nathaniel Patterson died in 1965, is located at 8 West Broadway at Fort Meade City Hall. Mina Miller Edison and Thomas Alva were early winter residents of Fort Myers.
