Frank specialized also in the study of gamma rays, became in 1944 at the University of Moscow. Cherenkov radiation is used also widely for detection of radioactive isotopes in biomedical research. The laboratory was based under construction on the neutron fast-pulse reactor. This discovery resulted in the development of new methods.
