Boulby Quarries is a 40.3 hectare, geological Site of Special Scientific Interest in England in Cleveland. England SSSIs are designated by Boulby Quarries and Natural England. The site is identified in the Geological Conservation Review. The quarries are wholly within the historic North Riding and the North York Moors National Park within Cleveland Heritage Coast and the North Yorkshire. The fossil content of Boulby Quarry is particularly important with the only Upper Lias pterosaur and an ichthyosaur Ichthyosaurus crassimonus with two plesiosaur species.
