1901 Open Championship was the 41st Open Championship
The 1901 Open Championship was the 41st Open Championship. James Braid won the Championship, three strokes of runner-up Harry Vardon. The Championship was a close contest between J.H. Taylor and Vardon between Braid. Taylor was next seven shots for the fourth consecutive year, finished third with a seven further strokes with amateur Harold Hilton.
