The British contingent led by 3rd Baron Baden-Powell by Robert Baden-Powell. The program of this Jamboree included excursions in the mountains. The Fifteenth World Scout Jamboree scheduled in Iran for 1979. The slopes of the great Rocky Mountains gathered in Kananaskis Country. First World Scout Jamboree held in the Southern Hemisphere. The event was opened officially by H.M. Queen Beatrix of the Netherlands. The Andean foothills served for the first World Scout Jamboree as a backdrop, was opened officially by Chilean President Eduardo Frei. The theme was reinforced by the 3rd Global Development Village. Operation Los Andes made the possible Jamboree participation of 56 countries. The first time participated through help in a Jamboree. A large Global Development Village run by 50 organizations. A record number of 12 religions conducted services during nearly 80 percent and this holiday period. Operation Sattahip helped fund the participation of 247 Scouts from 93.
